    How-To: Fight Off Winter Frizzies

    by  • February 3, 2008 • Hair Tips

Fried frizzy hair isn’t only a summer problem, winter weather can cause the same results. Since there is a lack of moisture in the air, often hair becomes prone to static and split ends. One way to ward off frizz is by using a good hydrating shampoo. Also, don’t towel dry your hair too vigorously after a bath or shower and be mindful of over-blow drying. Weekly deep conditioning treatments are a must as are regular trims to remove dead ends.
STEP 1: Make sure you’re using the correct products. Keep an eye out for moisturizing ingredients such as avocado oil, almond oil, aloe and vitamins A, E and B. Steer clear of sodium laureth sulfate and tea laurel sulfate; two drying and damaging detergents.
STEP 2: Use the appropriate tools. Make sure that hair is prepped with heat safe styling products and blow dry hair with a vented round ceramic brush with boar bristles.
STEP 3: Choose a good finishing product. Shine boosting sprays or drops containing silicone are wonderful ways to seal in moisture. Just remember to use them sparingly and keep them away from the roots of your hair. The goal is too look polished, not greasy.

    Billa Wrong

    by  • January 31, 2008 • Hair Tips

    Oh no you didn’t!

Above you can see my original golden tooth Johnny Cupcakes design, which was created and released in 2005. It was featured in many magazines, blogs, and even seen on television. Next to it you’ll see something very similar.

Anyways, a ton of my loyal fans just sent me some different links to this new shirt that Billabong JUST released, called “Billabong Bling Bling”. Looks familiar, eh? It’s the exact same thing, minus the cupcake! Look at the teeth, look at the bottom row of teeth. With them being a bazillion dollar corporation, you figured they could of at least changed it around a little bit, or hired a decent designer. I guess they had to do this so that all the other corporate giants wouldn’t pick on them for not being bully enough. Tssk Tsk!

Please spread the word on this not so good situation / “coincidence” via blogs, myspace, facebook, etc.. The truth MUST be told about this type of nonsense! (Feel free to use the photo & info above.)

    Virgin Galactic

    by  • January 24, 2008 • Hair Tips

British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson has unveiled the official plan to slap the Virgin brand on the cosmos itself with the official launch of Virgin Galactic. Branson’s spaceliners will take six passengers (and two pilots) to sub-orbital space, more than sixty miles above the earth’s surface. For $200K passengers get a whopping five minutes of weightlessness and the possibility of sitting next to celeb space enthusiasts. According to the New York Post designer Phillippe Starck and Stephen Hawking have both signed up for flights slated to begin in 2009. Maybe he’ll give you a break on the ticket if you show up at the New Mexico launching grounds, Spaceport America.

DIY Spa Treatment: At-Home Hair Purifier

    by  • January 24, 2008 • Hair Tips

If clarifying shampoos aren’t getting rid of the greasy, grimy residue that gets left behind in your already oily hair, you’ll love this at-home purifying hair treatment. Made with aspirin to help stimulate your hair follicles and apple cider vinegar to get rid of build-up and control dandruff, it’ll help your hair feel bouncier, lighter, and clean as a whistle. Here’s what to do:
STEP 1: Wash your hair as usual
STEP 2: Crush two aspirin and pour them into an eight-ounce cup filled with apple cider vinegar (use more vinegar for thick hair and less for fine hair).
STEP 3: Next, apply to damp hair and leave on for fifteen minutes and then shampoo hair again. Skip using conditioner unless your hair is really tangled. In that case, just use a little bit on the ends and rinse well.
