Trend Alert: Half-Up Hair With a Twist

    by  • April 1, 2008 • Hair Tips

Earlier this month I spotted Nicole Richie and Whitney Port both donning a modern, slightly messy take on a half-up, half-down hairdo that Mandy Moore wore a while back. It’s a casual, chic, and stylish way to keep your hair out of your eyes. This laid-back look is easy to achieve. Just follow my three simple steps below:

STEP 1: Part your hair in the center.
STEP 2: Pull back the top crown of your hair (above your temples where your bangs are/would be) and twist hair away from your face. You can also braid it or brush it back as additional styling options.
STEP 3: Secure hair on the sides with small barrettes, elastics or bobby pins, or pull both sections of hair to the back and secure together. See? Easy.

Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron ‘Pur Sang’ Simon is the man!

    by  • March 27, 2008 • Hair Tips

We’re back to tell you about another missed opportunity to add another supercar to your fleet. Bugatti has built the Veyron 16.4 ‘Pur Sang,’ or ‘pure blood.’ The Veyron, a special addition version, is one of the world’s fastest cars ever made with a top speed of over 250 mph. Again, all five models have been pre-purchased for approximately $2 million each.

Bugatti has been off the radar for quite some time, but with the introduction of the ‘Pur Sang’ clad in a revealing paintless carbon and aluminum structure, the Volkswagen-owned manufacturer has clearly repositioned itself among the world’s most exclusive and exceptionally engineered automobiles

    How To: Teased Chignon

    by  • March 13, 2008 • Hair Tips

STEP 1: Begin with damp hair. (If your hair hasn’t been washed in a day or two, that’s even better — just spritz it with water.) Then add about two fist-sized amounts of mousse to your hair and distribute it evenly. Use a large round brush to blow hair dry, directing the hair away from the face.
For the last three steps, read more.
STEP 2: Tease the crown of your hair in three sections: left front, center, and right front. As you finish each section, spray the back of the hair with hairspray to ensure hold. When you are finished, very gently brush the front of the hair backwards.
STEP 3: Grab all of your hair at the nape of your neck and secure with an elastic (and make sure the elastic is tight).
STEP 4: Twist your ponytail and then wrap it into a bun around the base of the ponytail. Secure with hairpins as you go so that it has support in various locations; this keeps it from unwinding. When you’re near the end, fold the ends under the bun, and secure by criss-crossing two hair pins. As a finishing touch, smooth your hands over the bun to loosen any stray hairs. This keeps the style modern, fresh, and not overly “done”

Step 1: On wet hair, work a styling product from root to tip to help give hair texture.
Step 2: Part hair three-quarters of the way on one side, up from the outer corner of your eye. Blow-dry small sections at a time with a round brush and pin back each one as you go along. Jennifer’s hair set for about 10 minutes.
Step 3: Using a 1-inch curling iron, curl the entire head of hair and allow to cool, then finish with a misting of Light Hairspray.
Step 4: Leaving the severe side bang out, gather the rest of the hair at the nape of the neck. Wrap it into a loose bun and pin in place. Pull out a few more strands around either side of the face.

    Happy valentines Day

    by  • February 15, 2008 • Hair Tips

why is it valentines day…..basically there was a dude named valentine, who was a bishop in the catholic church in 270 in rome…..thats christianity for all you people going to hell…..but this is when the romans had everything on lock down and christianity was not even the official relegion/they had there own gods…..that would not happen until about another 100yrs when most of that stuff that jesus guy said a few 100’d yrs ago the nailed to a cross started happening and coming true…..basically claudius II , the roman emperor made a new rule saying that all soldiers in the roman army did not need to be married and need to have children……basically if you are going to defend the empire and expand it for me i dont need you flappin and making babies and dealing with a crazy wife…..but this catholic bishop valentine started marrying young lovers in secret….he got caught….put in jail….then ol boy falls in love with the jailors daughter while being locked up….also he tries to convert claudius to christianity while being in jail…..big dawg did not like that and sentenced him to be killed…..aka cut his head off…..before they sliced ol boy he wrote his sweetheart a final letter expressing his undieing love for her and signed the thing your valentine…..then on feb 24th they cut his head off….rude boys birthday!!!!!!
this made valentine a hero and he would be labeled a patron saint……hence saint valentine…..which lead to a festival named in his honor every feb 14th in which romans would write and give letters to the ones they loved expressing affection for the ones they wanted to formally see….aka flap!!!!

which a few white dudes took about 100 yrs ago and said hey, lets take atvantage of this situation and get rich and make stupid people think this day has something to do with candy/ a fat kid with a bow and arrow/ flowers/ and cards/….it worked…..another get rich idea i missed out on.

How To Get Voluminous Valentine’s Day Hair

    by  • February 9, 2008 • Hair Tips

STEP 1: Begin with clean, damp hair. Work a generous amount of volumizer into the roots and then comb hair with a wide tooth comb so that the product is evenly distributed. Part hair in the center.
STEP 2: Using a large, round brush, blow hair dry until it’s about 85% dry. As you are drying your hair, direct the dryer and your hair away from your face.
STEP 3: Then, divide hair into eight sections and and twirl each section into little buns (think Princess Leia) and secure with a bobby pin. Next, turn your dryer onto a low power, hi-heat setting and keep it moving briskly until your hair is fully dry. Let your hair cool anywhere from five to twenty minutes (this is an ideal time to apply your makeup or get dressed) and then gently remove the pins.
STEP 4: Finger comb your curls into place and curl any of the ends that may have become kinked with your round brush and hair dryer. When you are satisfied, mist your entire head with a light hold hairspray. Since not everyone is blessed with thick, long hair like Jennifer, if you really want to create killer volume, adding in a few extensions can make a big difference.
