    MISSION STATEMENT

Like so many of the hairstylists we meet on a daily basis our passion for the art and craft of hairstyling goes beyond the simple desire to earn a living. It is an extension of the love we have for beauty and fashion, architecture and design, people and nature. The commitment we have to family, the professionals we work with, and the next generation of stylists. A pledge that now extends to Sojourn.

We have been blessed with an intimate perspective on the culture of hairdressing and some of the world’s greatest hairstylists—men and women who revolutionized the art of modern hairstyling. Our respect for these artists runs deep. Hairdressing is a noble profession enriched by a strong tradition of skilled craftsmanship and carefully nurtured alliances. The bonds that come from guiding, encouraging and supporting another individual in developing the skills needed to be successful are the very essence of our industry.

This is the energy behind Sojourn—a professional product line based on positive chemistry, ecological integrity and some of the good business practices that we have lost in recent years—like quality ingredients, in salon education, and professional distribution.

The people you meet on these pages and those you will soon meet on the road with us share the same vision. We are an industry that strives to make people more beautiful and what a joy it is to be part of that. From that single unified thought we invite each and every hairdresser to join us in charting a new course. One by one we believe we can restore the values that inspire creativity and craftsmanship in all hairstylists. Bringing beauty, health and wellness to all the people we serve.

    ELAN SASSOON

Elan Sassoon was raised in a culture of phenomenal artists that took the art and craft of hairstyling to unparalleled new heights. Today he embraces his own philosophical journey with the same ubridled passion – building salons, developing products and educational resources for the hairdressing community.

“In developing products that are truly healthy for the hair I hope to restore the values that give talented hairstylists a voice in the industry, the products they use and the education they desire. Together I believe we can redefine what it means to work cooperatively for the greater good of our industry and the next generation of hairstylists.”

    MELISSA STONE

    Creative Director – Sojourn

Melissa Stone began her career as a stylist and educator for the Vidal Sassoon Company. As the first American female to earn the title of Creative Director at Sassoon, Melissa went on to inspire hundreds of hairdressers to use their creative talents and technical skills in new and unprecedented ways. Today she is one of the most sought after print media, celebrity and runway stylists in the industry. A firm believer in mentoring and education, Melissa enthusiastically supports the Sojourn team in salon familiarization and stylist education.

“For each stylist there is turning point, that moment when they feel they have finally found their true self. Whether that comes from styling clients, editorial work, teaching or developing new techniques, the path is clear. The decision to serve as Creative Director for Sojourn is one of those defining moments in my career. Working with a team that is so completely synergistic in its mission to deliver a safe and effective product that focuses on the stylist’s needs and success is a unique concept that is profoundly inspiring and uplifting. I believe that mentoring and education are a significant part of that process. And I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of paying it forward.”

Rob Guimond’s in-depth knowledge of chemistry and product ingredients has allowed him to play a key role in education and product development for the Sojourn product line. He performs this role with the type of conviction that can only come from someone who is deeply conscious of the carbon footprint his formulations will have on future generations. Rob is equally invested in explaining the how’s and why’s of chemical composition in a way that gives salon professionals the understanding they need to be successful in today’s health and wellness-based beauty culture.
