Job Description:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor to begin in fall of 2026. We seek exceptional scholars whose research and teaching will elevate Watson College's strengths in Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) and help build cross-disciplinary collaborations across engineering and the physical/computational sciences.
Theoretical Focus Areas include (but not limited to): distributed quantum computing, quantum networking, quantum sensing/metrology/imaging, quantum error correction, and quantum entanglement theory.
Experimental Focus Areas include (but not limited to): neutral-atom platforms (cold atoms or warm vapor), photonic systems (including nonlinear crystal sources and quantum optics), and other hardware relevant to quantum networking, sensing, imaging, metrology, and quantum information processing.
Responsibilities include:
While the primary target is the Assistant Professor rank, exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level with well-established research program and strong, sustained extramural funding will also be considered, contingent on qualifications and budgetary approval.
