Job Description

Role : Domain Owner- Surgery (IT Application Manager)

Location : Remote- CST

Duration : 8+ Month Contract

Clinical and Surgical Knowledge

  • Understanding how surgeries are planned, performed, and documented is critical.
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or a clinical field (nursing, radiology, surgical technology).

Knowledge areas:

  • Surgical workflows (pre-op, intra-op, post-op)
  • Anatomy and pathology (relevant to surgical specialties)
  • Imaging modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound) and DICOM standards
  • Familiarity with surgical specialties (orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, etc.)

Technical and Data Skills

Analysts that work with data pipelines, imaging software, and clinical systems.

  • Skills:
  • Data analytics and visualization (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Understanding of PACS/RIS and EMR/EHR integration
  • Familiarity with 3D imaging tools (e.g., Mimics, Materialise, Brainlab, 3D Slicer)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in image segmentation or surgical simulation
  • Experience with interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)

Healthcare IT and Systems

Understanding how digital tools integrate in hospitals and OR environments.

  • Skills/Experience:
  • Working knowledge of OR information systems, scheduling, and case management
  • Familiarity with vendors like Medtronic, CMR Surgical, Stryker, or Brainlab
  • Understanding surgical planning application workflows (pre-op planning, image registration, navigation, robotics)
  • Exposure to cloud and digital surgery platforms

Business and Analytical Acumen

For roles focused on optimization, adoption, or strategy:

  • Skills:
  • Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement (surgeons, IT, operations)
  • Workflow mapping and process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • KPI/metric design (efficiency, accuracy, case time reduction)
  • Business case development and ROI analysis for technology adoption

Preferred Experience

  • Previous work with digital surgery or surgical robotics platforms
  • Involvement in implementation or evaluation of surgical planning software
  • Cross-functional work between clinicians, IT, and vendors
