Leidos is on the lookout for an enthusiastic French Geospatial Linguist/Toponymist to join our team. This role is crucial for analyzing geographical data and managing geographic names, making a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Note: An active TS/SCI clearance and a willingness to obtain a POLY level clearance are REQUIRED for consideration.

The selected candidate will work closely with Intelligence Community geographic names experts to conflate information associated with feature data within the Geographic Names Database (GNDB). You will utilize various geospatial tools to refine and update names information, ensuring the utmost accuracy for critical missions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze and provide conjoined information related to foundation feature data within the Geographic Names Database (GNDB) and other repositories.
• Respond to inquiries regarding the proper application of names, utilizing guidance from BGN and related policies.
• Accurately manage and maintain data to ensure the GNDB remains up-to-date.
• Research and validate hydrographic, topographic sources, and commercial imagery to enhance geographic accuracy.
• Interpret and apply policies originating from BGN, DoS, NATO, and other related organizations.
• Utilize ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and other tools for research and data creation.
• Recommend native maps/databases for acquisition to improve resource quality.
• Provide translation services as needed to support office initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to obtain a POLY clearance.
• High school education with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• ILR Skill Level certification for reading in the language (minimum 2+).
• Intermediate to advanced experience with ArcGIS Pro and QGIS software.
• Solid understanding of Geographic Names collection methodologies.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong research and information gathering skills.
• Familiarity with commonly used GEOINT sources.
• Ability to effectively create and manage geo-databases and shapefiles.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in advanced Python scripting.
• Expertise in the regional geographies relevant to the analyst's area of responsibility.

Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
