Position Overview

McKessons well-regarded law department is seeking an experienced antitrust attorney to support antitrust counseling and training, antitrust aspects of M&A, and the antitrust risk mitigation and compliance programs for McKesson Corporation. This position reports to the Corporate Secretary and Assistant General Counsel as part of the law departments Corporate, Governance and Transaction Team.

Responsibilities

  • Advise legal colleagues, corporate, and businesses teams on a day-to-day basis as a subject matter expert on a wide variety of antitrust matters
  • Analyze services, products, policies and initiatives to provide practical competition advice and mitigation strategies
  • Develop and deliver relevant competition law-related trainings and communications, as well as resources and guidance materials
  • Review and advise on developing competition policy, pending legislation, and enforcement trends, and develop strategies for addressing same
  • Participate in antitrust risk assessments
  • Participate as necessary in the implementation of the antitrust compliance program
  • Partner with outside counsel, the M&A legal team and the Corporate Strategy and Business Development team on antitrust risk assessments of and regulatory strategy for proposed acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, and associated filings and review by antitrust regulators globally
  • Partner with the Litigation Group and outside counsel on strategy for and management of antitrust litigation
  • Communicate with antitrust regulators and represent and participate in meetings with such regulators on behalf of McKesson
  • Understand the competitive landscapes relevant to, and challenges and threats faced by McKesson's diverse and evolving businesses

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years relevant experience as a practicing antitrust attorney
  • Experience counseling large, multi-national corporations on complex antitrust issues
  • Experience in the health care, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry preferred
  • Ability to synthesize complex legal analysis into clear recommendations
  • Good executive presence and engaging presentation style
  • Builds and maintains a network of good working relationships with legal and business colleagues of varying levels of seniority and sophistication regarding antitrust matters
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent judgment, strategic thinking, and organizational savvy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in virtual, collegial, fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Agility in managing multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ability to manage external counsel efficiently

Education

  • Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials
  • Member of a state bar in good standing

Our Base Pay Range for this position $170,800 - $284,600
