Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift

As a Registered Nurse on our Behavioral Health Medical-Surgical unit at  Hospital, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population. You’ll be part of a supportive environment that values teamwork, professional growth, and evidence-based practice.

This full-time day position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working in Georgia’s most integrated health system.

The RN Clinical Nurse is an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team, partnering with licensed and unlicensed caregivers to provide safe, individualized, patient-centered care. Guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and Shared Governance, the RN upholds the highest standards of clinical excellence, ethics, and patient advocacy.

• Perform the full Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver individualized, evidence-based care tailored to patient needs and cultural backgrounds.
• Engage patients and families through clear communication, bedside shift reports, teaching, and updates.
• Follow all current clinical practice standards.

• Coordinate safe, high-quality care within an interdisciplinary team.
• Use inclusive communication practices (rounds, case reviews, documentation).
• Support recruitment, retention, and a healthy team culture.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and shared governance.

• Complete ongoing training, education, and competency assessments.
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor to new nurses, students, or team members.
• Model professional practice and contribute to a positive work environment.

• Promote and participate in evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
• Use appropriate resources and experts to answer clinical practice questions.

• Plan patient care across the continuum.
• Contribute to developing protocols to improve outcomes (e.g., reduced readmissions, fewer adverse events).
• Ensure efficient use of supplies and resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and uphold Wellstar standards of conduct.

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Active RN license (Georgia or multistate compact).
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).

• Less than 1 year of nursing experience required (ideal for new grads or early-career RNs).
• Direct patient care experience preferred.
