Join to apply for the Math and Science Teacher role at Fusion Academy Fusion Academy Alexandria currently has an opening for a part-time STEM Teacher. This position provides a student centered, supportive classroom that promotes resourcefulness, critical thinking, self awareness, and inclusion while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach. This is a part-time position with the potential to transition into full-time contingent upon student enrollment. Pay Range : $28.25 per hour USD Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one teaching in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and possibly Statistics for grades 6-12. Demonstrate adapted and differentiated instruction for all students and support holistic growth. Maintain complete and accurate teacher and student records. Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents. Contribute to and benefit from the campus community. Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement. Mentor students in addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching. Other duties as assigned (e.g., tutor part-time students). Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, with a higher level Math and/or Science background. Solid subject matter knowledge in Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and possibly Statistics at grades 6-12. Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory. Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus, as well as mentoring experience. Ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, proficient in basic computer skills, and eager to work in a dynamic, energetic school setting. Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately. Competencies Expertise in the relevant subject areas.
