Medical Records Clerk

We are searching for an experienced Hospital Medical Records Clerk to work in our busy Health Information Management Department.   

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Respond to requests for information from medical records
• Assemble, audit and file medical record information
• Retrieve information from charts
• Uphold the standards of confidentiality
• Track delinquent chart information and inform responsible parties

The following requirements are needed to be successful in this position:

• Previous Medical Records experience in a hospital setting. RHIT preferred.
• Ability to communicate with staff and the public in person, in writing and over the telephone, in a tactful manner 
• Be detail oriented
• Demonstrate the ability to efficiently organize work and maintain a high level of accuracy and HIPAA guidelines
