Outside Sales Consultant – Landscaping

Edward’s Lawn & Landscaping is a locally owned and family-operated residential and commercial landscaping company proudly serving Central Maryland since 2007. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Outside Landscape Sales Consultant to join our team and help drive the next stage of our success.
Why This Role Matters
This is not a desk job. As an Outside Sales Consultant , you’ll be the face of our company, meeting with potential clients daily, walking their properties, identifying opportunities, and providing proposals that win their trust and business. Your primary focus will be driving new customer growth by selling high-value landscaping enhancements, installations, hardscaping, and upgrade projects. You’ll play a direct role in expanding Edward’s Lawn & Landscaping’s reach and reputation across the region.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused, goal-driven environment and wants to be part of a supportive team with plenty of room to grow.
What You’ll Do
Focus exclusively on acquiring new clients and selling profitable landscaping enhancements, installations, hardscape projects and upgrades, including:
Property cleanups and mulching
Landscape drainage solutions
Lawn renovations (sod installations, overseeding)
Tree work (pruning, removals)
Landscape design and plantings
Grading and water runoff/management solutions
Light design-build projects (paver patios, stamped concrete, garden/retaining walls, fencing, decking)
Landscape lighting installations
Proactively develop business through networking, canvassing, referrals, and company-provided leads.
Meet with new prospects in the field daily to assess needs, present tailored solutions, and close sales.
Prepare, deliver, and follow up on proposals to turn opportunities into projects.
Collaborate closely with the operations team, back office support, and ownership to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Represent Edward’s Lawn & Landscaping in your territory (Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Carroll, and parts of Howard County).
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a personable, professional demeanor.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence decision-making.
Resilience—able to handle objections, rejection, and turn challenges into opportunities.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation to succeed independently and within a team.
Sales experience preferred, but a driven, coachable mindset is most important.
What We Offer
Base salary + uncapped commission (tiered structure with clear payout schedule).
Total compensation range: $100,000–$175,000+ annually (higher potential with strong performance).
