This position is under the direct supervision of the Manager for assigned, high-profile site and performs a variety of Security Escort-related duties. Given the nature of the assignment, candidates must possess a Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance with HRP. Essential functions include performing all duties necessary in accordance with all applicable security procedures and security requirements, responsible for a variety of access entry activities, maintaining continuous visual, audible, and/or physical control of non-cleared personnel, coordinating all paperwork, responding to all alarms and emergencies, maintaining current knowledge and awareness of security plans, operating all vehicles safely and efficiently, and other duties of similar scope and nature as assigned.
Minimum qualifications at entry include U.S. citizenship preferred, the legal right to work in the United States, an active DOE Q clearance and HRP, a reliable means of communication and transportation, the ability to speak, read, and write English, and a current, valid driver's license. Education/experience includes a high school diploma or G.E.D, at least three (3) months' experience performing work in a public safety and/or security-related position, and related experience preferred.
Competencies include meeting and continuing to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for security personnel, knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures, ability to carry out instructions, ability to communicate clearly, ability to be an effective team member, ability to maintain professional composure, ability to adapt to changes, good organizational skills, ability to provide high-quality customer service, good interpersonal skills, required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and basic skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls. Working conditions include maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, exposure to stressful situations, requirement to work overtime without advance notice, frequent sitting, standing and walking, close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, requirement to use a vehicle in the performance of duties, requirement to perform stressful physical activity, exposure to inclement weather or hazardous materials, and potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents, or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Based on assignment, paid time off (PTO) for full-time employees ranges from 80-160 hours/year based on tenure in the position; sick leave is a minimum of 56 hours per year for a full-time employee.
