About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel for Labor and Employment to join its purpose-driven team. The successful candidate will be a key partner in the legal team, providing strategic direction and thought leadership on legal issues that impact the company's employees and the overall employment experience. This role involves delivering day-to-day legal advice on a wide range of labor and employment matters, managing employment-related claims and litigation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for advising on compensation and benefits issues, as well as partnering with HR to develop and implement employment policies and practices. Applicants must have at least 10 years' of experience in employment and labor law, with a J.D. and be registered and in good standing with at least one State Bar. Essential leadership attributes include experience in supervising and leading a team, the ability to think strategically, and a high level of personal integrity. The role requires a team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a creative, problem-solving perspective. While not required, experience in a retail, consumer, or experiential/hospitality business is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, independent leader with a strong interest in leveraging technology for efficiency in legal operations and a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
