What You Will Do
- Direct and indirect supervision of employees in an assigned area. To ensure safe and efficient operations of the department. Demonstrates successful patient/technical skills by producing a variety of radiological procedures while maintaining the high standards of patient care. Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements of staff. Preserves support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology. (40%)
- Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operations of the department of Radiology. (30%)
- Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner. Displays a commitment to the hospitals mission’s values. (25%)
- Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics. (5%)
- Adheres to hospital safety standards
- Perform , follow protocol, and maintain competency for High Level Disinfection procedures
- Take responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment
- Provide age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics
- Provide mentorship to and/or precept junior staff and students
- Participates in committees and/or projects as needed
- Participates in regulatory activities
- Participates in budgetary controls
- Requests and assists in the maintenance of supplies necessary for department operations.
- Perform yearly competencies and evaluations of staff

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Work Experience - 5+ years scanning experience in Abdominal, Vascular, Gynecology, and OB/GYN (Required) and
- 2+ years as a registered technologist (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Knowledge of Ultrasound equipment, computers, patient transport equipment, O2 tanks, immobilization devices, and radiology information system. (Required proficiency)
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, written, and oral communication skills (Required proficiency)
- Radiology computer systems: RIS,PACS and computer software programs. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) (Required) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (Required)
