Hours: 36/48 rotating schedule

Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced and resilient Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a correctional healthcare team in Cleveland, Texas . This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment and can provide high-quality patient care within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals in accordance with facility and state standards.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals, and perform patient assessments.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining safety and security protocols.
• Float to nearby correctional units within a 10–30-minute radius as needed (drive time compensated).
• Maintain professionalism and adaptability in high-stress or changing situations.

Schedule:

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 36/48 weekly rotation
• Work week: Saturday–Friday (overtime calculated accordingly)

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

   

Requirements:

• Active Texas or Compact LVN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of LVN experience with at least 1 year in acute Med-Surg
• Must provide Driver’s License and Social Security Card upon submission
• Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments
• COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions accepted per policy)

Additional Details:

• Floating required between units within 50 miles
• Overtime available based on performance and attendance
• Monthly schedules may vary; rotations not guaranteed
• Refusal to float may result in removal from assignment
