Full Time D/N Rotational (3x12s), EOW, Holiday + 2 On Call shifts per 4 weeks.

\n\nJob Description\n

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applying appropriate interventions and evaluating patient progress.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Connect with patients and families during triage, establishing rapport and addressing comfort needs.
\n
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments of critical needs, documenting deviations from norms.
\n
• Encourage cooperation and mutual trust among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
\n
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and make appropriate referrals for post-emergency care.
\n
• Maintain awareness of the patient's situation throughout the emergency department visit.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only).
\n
• One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse.
\n
• New York State RN Licensure.
\n
