    FREE TATTOOS FROM NIKE!…

    by  • March 5, 2007

Supertouch contributor, former biochemist (really!) & all-star tattoo artist SCOTT CAMPBELL is currently busy designing the uniforms for the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing. As an extension of the project, the Olympic Committee and NIKE (yes, you read that right) are offering to pay to have Scott tattoo the patriotic emblem he’s created for the US team as a giant backpiece on anyone brave enough to go under the needle. The recipient would need to be in fairly good shape, male or female, and must be able to sit through three long & painful inking sessions. Afterwards, the tattoo and recipient will be photographed as part of the Olympic campaign. SERIOUS contenders only should contact the studio directly at info@mama-tried.net, 212-920-4097. It’s worth getting the piece just to say Nike paid for it…

AMAZING! Couture Shuts out Sylvia to Win Third UFC Heavyweight Title

    by  • March 4, 2007

He told us he saw something, that he looked at Tim Sylvia and saw opportunity, the chance to return to the top as a champion. At 43 years old, it was hard to believe, but who could doubt Randy Couture?’

Still, it seemed too much to overcome. He was giving up six inches, twelve years and forty pounds, and all that after sitting out on the sidelines for a year after retiring. Sure, it was Randy Couture, the man who’d made a living beating the odds. But this was too much for even him, wasn’t it?

Of course not. “The Natural” shocked the mixed martial arts world, dominating a five-round decision en route to his third UFC heavyweight championship Saturday night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

“SPLASHER” ATTACKS STREET ART in NYC

    by  • March 2, 2007

“Someone out there has a problem with art. Or at least a certain kind of art and artist. The evidence is the bright green and purple splashes of paint that began appearing on walls in Brooklyn and Manhattan more than a month ago. The carefully aimed blobs obscured or disfigured dozens of pieces of street art created by people who may not be household names, but who have achieved the esteem of peers and some recognition from the mainstream art world. Many of the paint splatters were accompanied by messages printed on plain white sheets of paper and pasted near the splatters. (…) One reads, in part, ‘Destroy the museums, in the streets and everywhere.’” (NYTIMES article)

UFC PPV REVENUE TOPS $200 MILLION IN 2006

    by  • March 1, 2007

UFC Surpasses Boxing and Blows Away WWE in Battle for U.S. PPV Dollars with Over $200 Million in Gross PPV Sales, PLUS: Early Word on UFC 67’s PPV Buyrate

The UFC broke the pay-per-view industry’s all-time records for a single year of business and generated over $200 million in revenue during 2006, according to two credible media outlets.

Both the Associated Press and the Wrestling Observer have reported that Zuffa’s pay-per-view revenue in 2006 exceeded $200 million, with the Wrestling Observer reporting the specific figure of $222,766,000. As the Observer put it, “UFC grossed more money this past year on PPV than any promotion in history ever has.”

Many fans of both boxing and MMA have wondered whether the UFC has already surpassed boxing. The numbers show that not only is the UFC bigger than boxing today, but it’s also bigger than boxing ever was from a PPV revenue standpoint. The all-time record year for boxing was 1999, with just over $200 million in combined PPV revenue, and the UFC broke that record by over $20 million in 2006.

Fearless Yacht designed by Porsche Design

    by  • February 26, 2007

Set to debut at next week’s Miami Boat Show, the 28-foot-long high-speed cruiser is a collaboration with Florida-based upstart Fearless Yachts.German creatives set about designing a luxury racer that could dominate what they dubbed the “aquabahn.” The boat boasts a fiberglass hull with the sleek curves and lean silhouette of a European coupe, and its “unitized,” or seamless, construction does away with unsightly rivets that might slow it down. There’s also a 525-horsepower Viper engine that helps the craft reach a top speed of 80 mph, which may not break any world records but will make you grateful for the Latham precision steering controls. Should 28 feet (and room for five) prove insufficient for your entourage, Porsche and Fearless are expanding the line to include vessels of up to 150 feet in length, and while the prices may be steep—the 28 starts at $300,000—they have this advantage: They manage to make a 911 look like a bargain.

Britnay’s new hair cut. Love It !

    by  • February 18, 2007

After all the color changes and extensions and her not being able to style her own hair, I think this is great. I wish I could have been the one to do it. Give it 4-5 weeks and she should have a more flattering look.
