Job Vacancy:  Digital Campaigner (two vacancies)

Location:  Anywhere in Canada. Most Greenpeace Canada staff work from home, as well as from offices located in Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver.

Reports to:  Head of Digital 

Details:  One  p ermanent position and one 12 month contract position, both unionized, both full-time (four day work week, Monday to Thursday, 28 hours/week) 

Salary:  $53,399 CAD per year (this amount will be prorated for partial years of service)

About the role:

Greenpeace Canada (GPC) is seeking a Digital Campaigner who will work in close collaboration with the wider Program and Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Teams. The Digital Campaigner collaborates with project teams to identify key opportunities for supporter impact and engagement within a campaign/project theory of change, all the while growing our movement of Greenpeace supporters.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the principal Digital Campaigner on assigned projects to deliver engaging, innovative and effective online campaigns that meet Greenpeace Canada’s organizational and campaigning goals:
  • Design and implement digital strategies and campaigning tactics;
  • Create digital supporter journeys and develop credible actions for the target audiences that support the project’s theory of change, moving the campaign forward;
  • Develop the digital narrative that will deepen supporter engagement in a project;
  • Write innovative, engaging, and compelling emails and web content to trigger action and deepen engagement;
  • Develop creative content, including blogs, SoMe graphics, and videos;
  • Ensure all communication and digital strategy across campaigns aligns with the objectives of the overarching digital and mobilization strategies.
  • Participate in the planning and implementing of the digital team strategy;
  • Co-manage Greenpeace Canada’s digital channels, including website, social media, and email marketing;
  • Moderate and encourage conversations, deepening engagement and growing communities;
  • Test and innovate on new digital tools and platforms, particularly CRM (Hubspot);
  • Regular tracking and reporting of digital metrics;
  • Assist with key digital priorities, such as training staff.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Language

  • Full fluency in French is a requirement for this position, with strong working knowledge of English as it is our primary operating language.
  • Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis languages are highly desirable. 
  • Knowledge of other languages that reflect the diversity of Canada’s many communities are also highly desirable.

Online campaigning

  • Ability to run effective digital advocacy campaigns and deliver social impact;
  • Ability to develop engaging supporter journeys and digital tactics;
  • Knowledge of environmental issues and the environmental sector is an asset.

Digital Marketing

  • Proven experience in digital marketing;
  • Proven experience creating content, including emails, blogs, social media content, and videos;
  • Knowledge of Hubspot or similar CRM platforms is a strong asset;
  • Experience with design programs such as Photoshop and Canva;
  • Content marketing and content strategies (especially in reactive/responsive content creation or collaboration with digital influencers); 
  • Digital and social media video creation and editing; 
  • Experience collaborating with digital influencers is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, and Data studio is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the overall goals and intent of Greenpeace (including policies, guidelines, programs, campaigns and project activities).

  • Extremely fine-tuned organizational, computer, administrative and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently, to be proactive, to establish priorities, and proceed with objectives with sometimes limited supervision, yet participate effectively as part of a team;
  • Flexible, collaborative personality.

You will work with colleagues across Canada and collaborate with other Greenpeace offices around the world.
