Job details We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven Food Safety & Quality Manager for our fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities related to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems throughout our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of safety and quality, while complying with all relevant regulations and certifications. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems in compliance with USDA, BRC, SQF, and HACCP standards. Conduct regular audits of these systems to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement. Coordinate and manage all activities related to third-party audits and certifications. Lead and manage a team of Quality Assurance professionals, providing ongoing training and development to ensure their skills and knowledge remain up-to-date. Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure food safety and quality standards are integrated into all aspects of our manufacturing processes. Investigate and resolve any issues related to food safety or quality, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging issues, and regulatory changes related to food safety and quality, and ensure these are incorporated into our systems and processes. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in food safety and quality management. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization on food safety and quality issues, strategies, and initiatives. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety and quality management role within the manufacturing industry. Proven experience with developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality management systems in compliance with USDA, BRC, SQF, and HACCP standards. Strong knowledge of food safety and quality regulations, standards, and best practices. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong skills in training and development. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex food safety and quality issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex food safety and quality concepts to all levels of the organization. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred. Certified in HACCP, SQF, and/or BRC is highly desirable. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
