Funeral Director/Embalmer 

MidCoast Maine (Lincoln County Area)

Full-Time | Relocation Assistance Available

 

 

Our client is seeking an experienced and licensed  Funeral Director/Embalmer to join their well-respected, family-owned funeral home located in Maine’s scenic MidCoast region. Nestled between quiet harbors and rolling countryside, their

firm proudly serves multiple generations of families with integrity, professionalism, and care.

 

As part of a dedicated team, you’ll play a key role in guiding families through their most sensitive moments, all while living and working in a most beautiful area.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Meet with families to plan services that reflect their wishes, traditions, and budget
  • Coordinate and direct visitations, funerals, memorials, and burials
  • Perform embalming and restorative care with precision, respect, and artistry
  • Manage case files, regulatory documents, and ensure compliance with Maine state laws
  • Maintain a high level of dignity and care in all aspects of the preparation room
  • Participate in community events and maintain positive relationships with clergy, cemeteries, and vendors
  • Be part of an on-call rotation (flexible and supported by team coverage)

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in Maine, or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • 2+ years of experience in a licensed funeral home setting preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy-driven approach with a calm, professional presence
  • Skilled in embalming, cosmetic work, and preparation room protocol
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
