LPN/GPN - Cardiac Progressive Care at Mercy summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care in a cardiac progressive care unit under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed prescribers. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, and complying with state nursing licensure requirements. The role requires physical endurance and basic life support certification, with part-time night shifts at Mercy Hospital Southeast.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Position Details: Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: 4H Cardiac Progressive Care Status: Part-Time - minimum of 8 hours/week or 16 hours/pay period Shift: Typically, 12 Hour Nights (7:00pm - 7:30am) Qualifications:

• Education : Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.

• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

• Physical Requirements/Demands : Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

• Experience : Experience preferred but not required.

• Certifications : Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
